Bio
Christine Catania-Rachlin, is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Massachusetts and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pennsylvania. She received her master’s degree in social work from Boston College in 1996 and her Doctorate in Social Work in May 2024 from Southern Connecticut State University. Christine has worked in various social service settings during her 27-year career, providing mental health services, mainly in underserved communities with adolescents and adults. In addition to her role as clinician, she has held leadership positions including supervisor and program director in several agencies. Currently, Christine maintains a trauma focused private practice as well as teaching at Anna Maria College.
For the past sixteen years, Christine has been passionate about obtaining training in advanced trauma-informed treatment. This includes being EMDR certified, trained in Neurofeedback, and advanced training in Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, Developmental Needs Meeting and Ego state therapy. This winter she will complete advanced training in Deep Brain Re-orienting.
In 2023, she was invited to join the Western Massachusetts EMDR Association as a board member. Her professional interests are in trauma informed treatment, holistic healing modalities and bridging the disparity that exists in mental health treatment. Christine hopes to contribute to elevating trauma knowledge and competency through the education of BSW & MSW students, as well as proving trainings for current mental health practitioners and other professionals who work with those who have been trauma exposed.
